Development of the scaled boundary finite element method for image-based slope stability analysis

چکیده
This paper presents a numerical technique for geotechnical slope stability analysis, integrating digital image meshing with the scaled boundary finite element method, allowing site conditions such as complex stratigraphies, surface and internal geometry evolution to be simulated in robust straightforward procedure. The quadtree decomposition is used automatically discretise directly from images using pixel information accurately capture boundaries fine-scale elements. process allows models generated cross-section of slopes, capitalising on combination method meshing. spatial distribution soil material properties can represented by colour each pixel. A mapping developed integrate these parameters into computational mesh. feasibility proposed presented through case study simulations an active large Australian open-pit mine, considering various aspects features geometry, stratigraphy behaviour.
